Students attending Lee's Discover Carolina program for 5th grade will use one of the park ponds as the field study site. 

Students test the water quality here by collecting water temperature, pH and macroinvertebrate abundance data.

 

 
The water that fills this pond comes from rain, two artesian wells and two streams.
