Lesson Description:
The activities provided are to allow students to prepare for
interactive demonstrations during the On-Site program. Students
will be introduced to the rice culture of the Lowcountry and
will write a journal entry to be used during the program.
Students should be encouraged to write down any questions
not answered in class and bring them on the day of the program.

Activities:
Activity I
There are two worksheets included. Students must read the
write ups and then do the worksheets. The correct answers
will be included. For the worksheet on rice show the students
the packet of rice so they are familiar with what they will
be seeing the day of the program. A complete demonstration
of rice processing techniques will be done with the students
participating.
Activity
II
Students will write a journal entry and bring it with them
to the program. Directions are included for the type of entry
to write.
