At
Musgrove Mill State Historic Site, students learn about the
Battle of Musgrove’s Mill and the American Revolution in the
South Carolina Backcountry. They go beyond just learning
about the battle, they learn about the people that fought in
it, where they came from, and why they came together at
Musgrove’s Mill in the summer of 1780. In addition, students
learn about the brutal civil war that raged in South
Carolina during the American Revolution, as well as the
frontier area known as the Backcountry and the role it
played in winning America’s Independence.
We encourage
you to experience the park by participating in one of the
following Discover Carolina programs. Pre-site, on-site and
post-site lesson plans have been developed to ensure a quality
educational experience for you and your students.
